Floating Knobs is Dorian Largen and Ioana Vreme Moser.
We are a studio in Berlin focused on creating new tools and knick-knacks for electronic sound-making. We take as prime mission novel sound creation in the modular field.
The first instruments that we are launching are the start of a journey which will focus on bringing playful but complex instruments to musicians and experimentally inclined nerds as well as instrument lovers. As we are professional performers and experimentalists ourselves we want to provide you with interfaces and machines that are highly versatile so that you can find your own sound.
Dorian Largen (b. 1991) is a French creative technician and instrument builder engaged with hardware and software electronics.
With a strong experience in tactile experimentation, Dorian knows how to repair almost any electronic device you give him and understands how to make long-lasting machines. He spends his free time harvesting electronic components, opening devices and understanding their circuits. The machines and instruments he builds are a reflection of his electronic preoccupation and bring together his curiosity and fascination for electronics into a practical functioning form.

Ioana Vreme Moser (b. 1994) is a Romanian sound artist engaged with hardware electronics, speculative research, and tactile experimentation.

In her artistic practice, she uses rough electronic processes to obtain different materialities of sound. At Floating Knobs, Ioana brings complex interfaces closer to musicians and artists. She is behind the visual identity as well as the instruments' looks. She is also planning to release a couple of limited-edition instruments next year.
